National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards are opening new toll-free lines for consumers.

• The new toll-free NAPFA number 888-FEE-ONLY/(888-333-6659), allows callers to order a list of fee-only planners in their states. Brochures designed to help consumers select a planner are also available through the number.
  
  
• The CFP Board of Standards also has a new toll-free telephone line for consumers, 888-CFP-MARK/(888-237-6275). This number has been created so callers can establish whether a financial professional holds a CFP designation and whether the Board of Standards has taken disciplinary action against a particular individual. Callers will also be able to report a problem with their CFP if they feel the practitioner has behaved unethically.
